Symphony

Today’s poem is from the daily prompt ‘Symphony’. A musical vision.

Symphony

Sparkling sounds from orchestral strings

From low to high, the music swings

Deep percussion beats join the fray

A complex sound, fit for Broadway

Rich tones from the brass movement

Notes that lilt and sway, perfectly fluent

A theme, a story musically retold

Drift away to sounds controlled

The melody slides around a notational scale

A colourful cacophony, breathe, inhale

A crescendo builds, louder timpani

Not rhapsody or harmony but wonderful

Symphony
